Video blogging is really the best of both world, by taking blogging and throwing in video users get more value and are able to engage in the information through audio as well as visual cues. For example, a video blog might be used by a popular cooking web site to show users how to create a recipe, much like the process used in a TV based cooking show. Video blogging is often called vlogging, and naturally fits in with the concept of viral marketing. Of course, just creating a vlog doesn't mean your receiving the benefits of viral marketing.

To keep viewers attention your vlog has to offer value, just because visitors aren't only reading the information like they would in a typical blog is no read to bombard them with advertisements for your business. Most users are web savvy and then can easily spot content of value compared to someone only trying to make a sell. If you allow your vlog to be full of useful information, presented in an attractive light, users will do all the hard work for you and spread word about your vlog, getting you more visitors and more sales. Getting viewers to check out your vlog is usually only half of the value; they also need to feel that they are in the right place.

Make sure your content is focused on your core audience, though you might be tempted to make your content very general to get the most number of visitors what would be the point if these visitors have no use for your product or services. For example, if your company vlog is looking to connect with individuals under 25 for hip trendy athletic gear, you wouldn't advertise your blog to forums and sites catering to those ages 65 and up. Remember make your blog visually stunning and content focused!

To keep your video blog running smoothly work out any potential hosting problems and bandwidth problems beforehand. Talking to your web-hosting provider can assist you in making sure you wont' exceed your limits and end up leaving potential visitors disappointed when your site won't load properly! You can also choose to create your own channel on YouTube and add your videos to other video sites in order to get it seen by more people.

Because vlogs are usually more labor intensive than regular blogs or regular podcasts most users choose to combine video blogs and regular vlogs, often choosing to blog to their site several days a week and vlog once or twice that week depending on how busy their schedules might be. If you are new to vlogging you will also face a slight learning curve when it comes to shooting and editing the video.

Once your vlog is created there are a number of ways to get a buzz around it, besides using YouTube and other such sides add your vlog to social networking sites where you are a member, let users know you have new content up in a e-newsletter and publish information to forums and other blogs you regularly visit.
